FH and I can't decide on a band or DJ... Please help us out.
If you have any recommendations, that would be helpful too!
Thanks! Isabella

Re: Band or DJ?
Both
We went with body rock because we really needed a DJ for some of the music we like but we really like all the live aspects they add.
I suggest if youre really torn looking into something the same :)

I know this is a totally personal decision but there was no question we were going with a band. To me, there is nothing like LIVE music to set the tone for an affair. And, if you do your research you'll find plenty of amazing bands who can recreate your favorite songs- or sound even better!
Edit: I can't spell
ITA! I have been to lots of weddings with DJ's and I've had a good time, but for us, we knew we wanted a live band. We are having Soul Revival and they are so good! I can't wait for the wedding so I can dance, dance, dance!

we went w/ peat moss and the fertilizers.....some bands were just way out of our price range but they r closer to the price of a dj than a band and they r amazing plus has a dj as well

We had the band Code Bleu and they were fantastic. The dance floor was packed all night
100% agreed. We used Code Bleu and people were amazed. We all had such a blast. DH and I tried to make our 'rounds' but no one was at their tables all night!!! There's something about live music that in my opinion, can't be beat, so for me it wasn't even an option. However, a good DJ is a million times better than a bad band. So you need to find an awesome band if you decide to go with one. I definitely HIGHLY recommend Code Bleu.
I am surprised...i saw them at their showcase and walked out 20 mins into it....not to sound like a *** but they need a younger lead female singer. In their case i would much rather have a dj.
Wow that's odd... Search them here on LIW and you won't find one bad review. My DH's family was obsessed with them and they own a large music company in Boston, and his dad played the organ at Fenway. Every single review on here raves over them. And they do have another lead female singer who is younger. We got both of them.

Re: Band or DJ?
I love a good DJ but for a wedding I think nothing beats live music. Plus, IMO I think bands add a unique and classy feeling to a wedding. The cost is deffinetly a downside. FH & I decided to splurge and go with Vision who are amazing live and a great party band.

Re: Band or DJ?
I think it totally depends on the DJ company. We knew we wanted a DJ and plan to utilize live musicians for portions of the evening. However, we booked a DJ that ONLY plays weddings. That was a huge selling point for us. We got someone who had been in the business for some time and worked their way up. They wouldnt be heard at a Sweet 16 or similar type of event. They knew our venue and our type of wedding ... I know we wont be sorry for our decision!
And yes bands do need to take more breaks between sets. More people to feed and tip!
