Can anyone tell me a ballpark price for a large band (like 10 piece). I am looking for music right now and am so confused. Thanks!

Re: band prices?
i have found a good 'rule of thumb' is 1K per band member, although they can range in both quality and price...

Re: band prices?
You will get a lot of ranges with this question as it really depends what you are looking for...if you go with a top-notch, well known wedding band---it could cost up to $10,000 and up.....go with less people, less cost. I did find if you look for bands that are not perhaps, typical wedding bands, but play weddings, you have some negotiating ability (as I'm sure you do with others as well but just seemed to knock prices down more IMO) Also, believe me, if you look around hard and long enough, you will find the right band at the right price, it can be done. I did not want to spend a fortune and probably listend to upwards of 15 bands from LI, NYC, Connecticut, and found a quality band at a good price...are they probably the best band ever, which I started out thinking I had to have, no, but they sound good and have a lot of energy and play music for my 35 + crowd....hope this helps you some.....

It really depends on the type and quality of what you are looking for. There is such a range. Looking for a band was so much fun. I totally recommend Ken James Orchestra (ask for Bruce) or Faze-4. Both are in Great Neck and are great. You are looking at about $8k.

Re: band prices?
We got a great 8 piece band for $4500. You can add a trumpet player for another $500, but I don't think it's neccesary. You can hear a sample of their music on www.stolenmoments.com. The original Stolen Moments is their best band, but they were booked for our day, they're $5500. We booked Moonlight Silhouettes and we love them 99% as much. I can sacrifice the 1% to save $1000. We also booked a classical trio for our ceremony and a calypso band for our CH all through the same company.

Re: band prices?
I just used Times Square Orchestra - for my wedding and they were amazing - In fact most of my guest told us they were the best band they have ever heard at a wedding. I can't recommend them enough - I have a strong musical background and I looked around at a TON of bands and thought they blew the more expensive bands away - they are an 8 piece - and are now probably in the 6K range - they do showcase - FM me if you want more info there are a number of girls on here who were at the wedding who can tell you about TSO FM PrincessRose

Re: band prices?
We are having Code Bleu..they are really good..8 pieces, they are from Skyline Orchestras and are 5200. There are 3 other bands aside from them..not sure how many pieces they are..here is the site..they have showcases all the time..
On a Fri. Night with an extra hour of play time I was quoted anywhere from $4,200 to $7,000. I have narrowed it down to a few and Skylines Rhapsody happens to be one of them. (I also looked into smaller bands 6-8 pieces) I just emailed everyone I could for quotes and went from there.

I booked Arcadia with LI Paramount and at the time it was a 7 piece band but has now changed to an 8 piece band. I am paying $6,000. This could have changed though because I booked with them 2 years ago.

Re: band prices?
We are using Timepiece, a Franklin Wayne band. They are a 9 piece band. Prices vary for time of year and what day. For Sunday night in October we are paying 5700. You can check out the other bands at I think www.franklinwaynemusic.com

We had Code Bleu at our wedding and they were WONDERFUL!!! And, even though $5,000 is a lot of money, it was so worth it and as bands go, they're relatively inexpensive!!

We have 5 hours of music with an 8 piece band for $5000. You need to negotiate with them! We were originally quoted $6000...I love our band - they're great!

I forgot to mention that my sister used Ken James last summer and they were incredible. All the guests told her it was the best band they had heard at a wedding.

Re: band prices?
Thank you so much for all the posts ladies! I am having such issues with what to do with music for the wedding. The room I have is big and I'm afraid that a DJ will not look right, but they are so much cheaper than bands and I feel like there is so much more room for error with bands. I have seen alot of bad wedding bands, but I've also seen some very good ones, the only problem is they are close to 9 grand! Oh man, any other advice?? Thanks so much!

Re: band prices?
I've heard a couple of girls mention that they are getting DJ and adding live singers or percussionists. That's an option you may want to consider.
