With all due respect you ladies are out of your minds to be paying almost $8000.00 for a band. The company Iwork for just had a band at our annual function over the weekend. They were great. Sounded fantastic, personable, interactive with the crowd etc. They charged us $500.00 for 4 hours of playing. I asked how much for weddings of course and the manager quoted me $800.00. If anyone is interested let me know. They did a great job!!!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion....a good band is worth every penny to me. Sorry but I would not trust a band who charges $800. My friend found one for $3k and they were the worst I've ever heard - they got wasted and were so off tune...I would have demanded my $ back. I think some girls are out of their mind for paying thousands on invites.....some pay $10k for flowers....to me, $8k for a band is good. I had thought all the good ones were $10k and up.

Easy Killah!!! It was a figure of speech. No intention to offend anyone. I was just offering a low cost suggestion to some brides who may be strapped. I felt this band was great and maybe someone else would have thought so too. Sorry.

I really don't think I'm out of my mind for paying a lot for my band. If we didn't have the money, we wouldn't have booked them. It's a simple as that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but calling those of us 'out of our minds' for having bands that we are paying a lot for, is really uncalled for.

Couldn't have said it better myself! It's pretty rude of her to come on here and say that! I wouldn't put myself in debt if I didn't have the money either...I am paying a lot for a band b/c I have it and think it is money well spent!

Well - you did offend me! And please refrain from calling me 'Killah'

Re: band pricing
Hi there,
I am getting married next June (2007) and am most likey going to book the Michael Hart Band. I noticed that you ended up paying 9,000 with a 1/2 hour of overtime. Would you mind telling me how many pieces you had because they told me that it would cost me 15,000. I know that my wedding is a year and a half after yours, but that seems like a really big difference. Also, how did you like them? I am so nervous because you can't see them live. Did they bring a lot of energy?? Thank you so much for your help!!

Re: band pricing
There are reasonably priced talented bands out there. My band is around $5K now for 9pcs.
Go with what you like though.

i got a couple of quotes from Next Phase and some other bands (can't remember the names), they ranged from $7,700 - $8,500 - that's why I'm getting a DJ - even though I'm sure a band would be way better!
I actually like DJ's better, always have...and it works out becasue my DJ is only charging me 850
