Do you tip the band? We have an 11 piece band and they are on their own - meaning, not a part of a larger organization. Do we tip them? If so, how much....

i would, but only if they were good and did everything you asked.... chances are if they are on their own, they will split what you are paying them amongst themselves.

Tipping the band is unnecessary!
If you want to, go ahead, but as many people will tell you, they don't expect it. (And I took this from at least 1 singer in a wedding band who used to post on LIW, and possibly still does)
If you do tip them, give the entire tip to the band leader (in a separate envelope than the payment) and he or she will give it out to each of the band members. This is easier than trying to individually hand envelopes to each person. $25 per person is more than generous when you have a big band.
