Great price, MUCH better live than on the samples on the website. 9 piece band, 2 doing our cocktail hour.

FI and I made a deal... He was moaning over the band and saw this unbelievable band we 'had to' get. We looked at Steven Scott and Hank Lane, but he was dying for them.... So I gave it to him! I have heard amazing things and figured, I will make some other important decisions.

Sept20...you'll be glad you didn't book w/Hank Lane. They weren't that great at my cousin's wedding, and she and her hubby were ultra disappointed!

Re: Bands
We saw a bunch of bands at showcases around NYC and Long Island. While a lot of them were great, they were tremendously overpriced. We just couldn't reconcile spending between 6 and 8000 on the band, and having no money left for anything else.
Funkestra was recommended to us by a coworker of my fiances, they played his wedding and he said they were great. They are based in Connecticut, so we drove about an hour to see them play a bar, and once to play a restaurant party. They were fabulous, and the price was just unreal for what they were offering. Very professionally handled, they have one standard band with very little in terms of changing players. That did it for us!

Re: Bands
I went to a showcase that featured two skyline bands. Rhapsody just caught my attention. Their look was so professional and their sound was great! My mother and I loved them. FH wasn't with me the first time, so I brought him to another showcase where the same two bands were featured and he and my brother just thought they were great! So we went with them!

Re: Bands
lol Claudia- Hank Lane harrassed me! They have called me to try to get me to meet with them I'm not kidding something like 8 times. Different people each time. Although they were nice, It doesn't make me want them more.

The Peter Duchin orchestra is amazing. You must be paying a pretty penny. My mom used to work for them. do you know if you will be having the female guitarist? She's a great friend of my family.

Re: Bands
Jill- Have you chosen you band yet? Do you have a list of people you might be interested in?- If LI based, you are pretty centrally located. There are so many price points though with the band.
