bands...

How does it work? Do they set up before the reception or during?

What bands do you recommend?

We had Marc Elliott Band - and everyone RAVED about them. If you google them, you can find a preview video.

We had the keyboardist play during our CH and they set up during that time.

LOVED THEM!

We are using Code Bleu. We really love them. Went to one of their showcases and were amazed. Highly recommended.

How much do bands typically run for? Ive heard 6-8k but im not too sure.

I have seen two bands - Times Square Orchestra and Code Bleu, both of which were very good! Waiting for FH to give a listen and then, hopefully we'll book!

I know Code Bleu sets up before the reception (they have roadies!) so that everything is ready to go by the time you are ready to party.

Have heard wonderful things about Code Bleu but they can be difficult to book. We are using a FAZE 4 band. Really though, it is also about your taste in music. Listen to the type of music they play, go to showcases and when you find a band you love, book them.

Emily-are you using Skyline the band or someone from the Skyline agency? You might be using my FH's band!

I hope they are setting up before the reception...it wouild look bad in front of guests if they were lugging heavy speakers and equipment to set-up...I better check on that.

They usually set up before hand. Sometimes even before the ceremony depending on where in the RH the ceremony is and if guest could see them setting up. My FH is playing a wedding tonight that starts at 7:30 and he is getting there at 5:30. Standard procedure for most bands.
