Bands Advice!

Original post by MarinaLVNT

Hi All,

Did anyone hear of one of the Hart To Hart bands, Eric Ashley? I saw his DVD and loved it, but I've never heard him play live nor was he recommended by anyone I know. Any comments suggestions ...

If there's another band that anyone can recommend that would be great too!

Thanks!

Re: Bands Advice!

In response to booking based on a DVD/CD, for us it was the best thing to do. We are planning from OOT with my parents help, and can't always arrange to go to showcases. (we're a plane ride away)

I am NOT a big music person and would have been fine with a DJ, but my parents and FH were adament about having an awesome band. If my parents loved that band enough to want to book them on the spot, that + the reviews on here were enough for me to say go ahead even without the DVD. Music is not my thing -- I defer to others

For most people I'd suggest seeing the band in person first

Found this on Brides Review board. From last year

Band-Eric Ashley Orchestra-A+++++-Eric had everyone moving from the beginning into the longest hora he's ever done. Everyone was up and moving and everyone loved him--he was high energy and terrific, with the band!

I am using Heart & Soul for my wedding too. i asked them about the breaks and Franklin Wayne said they will take breaks when your maitre'd tells them too. I don't know other than that. My FH was totally against a band until he heart Heart & Soul.

We went to a band that had either Code Bleu or Faze 4 - I can't remember and they were excellent too. Their website does NOT do them a justice.

I was considering Creations - Kim Sozzi... she doesn't have showcase, which stinks.. but has a great reputation.. has anyone heard good/bad things about them??
