Bands - I need in help!

Hi all! I'm looking for an awesome, versatile, rockin' band that will get everyone up on the dance floor and keep them there all night. (If they can play a little Irish music - all the better.) Any recommendations? So far, I like Heart & Soul (Franklin Wayne), The Touch (Omnipop), Full House (Franklin Wayne) and Elite seemed pretty good from their video. If you can, any input on these bands would be really appreciated. Or any suggestions for other bands??? Thanks!

Irene (my opinion)

I went to see about 6 bands - the only one I know of the few you menitioned is Elite - I am using them for my June 16th Wedding. I also need Irish music - but I'm not sure if they will be able to play much. The lead singer Cara is one of the best I've heard - she has a great voice (I probably book b/c of her) and the manager of the band who used to be the lead singer Anna. I feel very confortable with her. I was going to use Hank Lane b/c they are the house band Co. at Carlyle where I'm getting married but I didn't like the fact of not seeing them in person. I think Elite was very good - they play in a classroom which turned me off at first - but after hearing them play I loved them. They seemed to be able to play everything very well - a lot of the bands I heard were better at playing more of the more recent tunes but you have to remember your wedding is mixed with all different age groups and you want everyone to enjoy themselves. I hope this helps. Let me know what you think. Good Luck.

Bands - I need in help!

I have been to a couple of Franklin Wayne's band showcases. I have seen Full House, Timepiece and Days Break Nights. Timepiece and Days Break Nights were very good, very energetic and entertaining but boked for my 2002 wedding. Full House was good but more of a 'rock and roll' type with the electric guitar, which I particularly did not want for my band. We personally went with Arcadia from LI Paramount. They have a diversified array of material and very energetic. Plus they are extremely talented. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Bands - I need in help!

I am glad to hear another bride using Arcadia. I was a littel hesitant at first b/c not to many people heard of them but when I saw them live, it sealed the deal! I am taking my parents to see them at the next showcase. When and where is your wedding?

Junebride - Did you see Elite live? If so, where?

There was one female band member (longish black hair) correct? Who else did you see before you booked Elite? Are the female singer and drummer married? Someone told me about an 'awesome' band that they thought was Elite and that was the case.

Bands - I need in help!

Renegade (LI paramount) is awesome! I have been to weddings with them and they are great. Other bands that I have heard and am considering are: The Original Phaze Four, NYC Swing, Body Heat (formerly of Frankin Wayne), Harris Lane (Hank's Son) and Jhade (Dwight Howard). The original Phaze Four is having a showcase in Great Neck on Thursday. Body heat is having a show case on 4/19 at Crest Hollow. Let me know if you need more info, I plan on attending both.

In response to Irene

Yes, that is the band - the drummer and lead singer are married. Like I said I think they were extremely good. I put questions about them on this site but know one new of them. I saw LI Paramont two of there bands one I thought was terrible and the other I thought was very very good but they put on to much of a show - I just wanted a band. (so they just weren't my type. I also saw Pheonix (I forgot the Co. name) my sister used one of their bands again very good) They were more like a rock and roll type band which I liked but - I think they were booded but I didn't check back once I saw Elite. I will find out there next showcase and maybe I'll even go one more time before my wedding. As I menitioned I also met with Hank Lane's Company - didn't like that you don't see them in person. I have all the bands I saw at home in my bridal book - I will have to get back to you on the rest I can't remember their names of the rest. Anyway I promise to find out about the next showcase.... How did you get the video? They usually showcase about once a month. Not only the lead singer has a great voice (the lead guy singer is great too.)

Oh I just remembered another one Jhade

I must of seem more like 7 or 8 bands - I did see Jhade - you watch a tape and as I have said I don't like that very much - maybe you can see them in person but I don't remember... They looked good but weren't for us - they were extremely trendy - The lead singer uses a head set (I wanted a more intimate feeling) It was like watching MTV but I think they were very good. If that is what you are looking for.

Bands - Faze 4 this evening

We are also going to see Faze 4 today Thursday in Great Neck at their showcase. I here great things about them. I like the fact they have their own studio and play live. I think you can really get a sense of what they are about. I also like the fact that I can talk to any band member on the showcase where I could not with these other companies. I also heard good things about Body Heat formerly with Franklin Wayne.

Bands - Faze 4 this evening Joy

I am going tonight also. They have been highly recommended. Body Heat (they are no longer a part of Franklin Wayne--despite what the website says) is having a showcase on 4/19 at Crest Hollow.

Faze 4 last night WOW.

We booked Faze 4 last night. Wow what a band. They took the music to another level. They were more than we wanted to spend, but we could not help but book them. They seem to also have an unbelievable track record.

Stacy, is your wedding day or evening? *NM*

My wedding is during the afternoon but I am trying to change to the evening of November 2nd. The band did tell me there was someone interested in them for that day but I do not know if that is true. I know they tell you that to pressure you into booking right away. Whatever. If someone does book them for the evening I will just stick to the afternoon. I am going to my caterer tomorrow to see about switching to the evening.

Stacy, were you able to switch your time?

Hi! how did it go with the caterer? did you switch to Saturday night? Yeah, the bands always tell you stuff to pressure you.
