I am so tired of making appointments to just listen to CD's...can you ladies provide me with the names of some bands that showcase and/or show videos in addition to just playing CD's also...what you know about the band as well... THANKS!

I am using Primetime Live - they are one of LIParamount's bands. I saw them live at a showcase, they have them monthly - check out their site: LIParamount

Oh, Septemberbride03 you are using Primetime! I just posted a question this morning about them. I went to hear them last night and loved them!! Are you using the full 10 piece band? Do you know if they are continuous music? I forgot to ask that last night??
As for others.. All the LI Paramount bands showcase live (check their website) Current Affair is playing at the Bridal Expo at the Marriot Monday and gives CDs and you can go to corporate parties Hank Lane only CDs Ken James and Dwight Howard both cds and videos John Marshall and Oasis - cds and select showcases Body Heat showcases Mystic Music showcases and happy hours.
That is all I can think of now. I'll let you know if I remember anything else...

Full House also showcases and plays in bars.Full House Music You can go to their website and get their schedule. We used them for our wedding and we have nothing but rave reviews for them. The dance floor was packed all night long.

Midnight Magic Orchestra showed us a video when we met with them. It's a great video and gives a very good presentation of what the band looks and sounds like. We actually felt their energy.

We saw 2 Faze 4 Bands this week at a showcase, and we are going to see Play By Play next Tuesday. I agree. You get a better feel for a live presentation. We were going to see Renegade next Monday but they got booked for our date. I also heard some good things about Code Blu and they do a showcase. Also at a showcase I like the fact that I was able to talk to the band leader directly. We also looked at CD's only with other companies.I just don't feel comfortable without seeing them.

babybride - sorry I didn't realize you posted to me! I'm using 9 members (not using the guy - I can't think of his name - I'll think about it. . )
Got it - the percussion section is what we eliminated! We have two singers, drummer/singer, 4 piece brass section - some also sing, guitar, bass guitar.

bethsiar - I booked based on only a CD and recommendations. Bands that don't have to won't showcase.

Valenia...that sounds just like the line steven scott uses!!! What worries me is who is to say that what you know to be 'central park' will actually show up at my wedding...i have no idea what they look like...because i have never watched the video...and i have heard that pictures from steven scott or hank lane are no guarantee. in fact, it has happened where a picture being used contains a band member that has since moved on to another company.
Also, by listening to cd's and watching videos i have learned that sometimes even if the band sounds amazing they might not perform the way you want or expect...from a video you can see how interactive they are...what kinds of comments they make...how they carry themselves etc. etc.
Don't mean to attack...i too will prob. go with hank lane or steven scott based on reputation alone BUT, i have to say that it really scares me that i will not know what i am getting until the night of my wedding
Plus, the real reason why they do not showcase or show videos is because they are afraid of a lawsuit when what you see is not what you get

I would never go with a band without seeing them live first. Most noteworthy bands showcase. Elite is showcasing tonight at North Ritz Club. Skyline is showcasing Jan. 29th at North Ritz. I have a ton of band showcasing invites at home. I will post more when I get home if you want.

I would defintely see a showcase, the personality of the singers could drive you nuts! I went to listen to Ken James and thought they were great but a week later at a wedding I was disappointed. I would recomment going to Faze4, they have 4 or 5 top bands that perform weekly.
