BANDS vs DJ'S

It's Friday and i don't feel like working so I'm making up threads. So 07 brides...what do you think...Band or DJ?

love the idea of a band, but way too pricey for us...we will have a DJ, and I am confident that they will be great

I like the idea of a band... but I prefer a DJ.

In my mind a band is for a very classy and high end wedding. A DJ is more for party people. My friends? TOTALLY party people.

I also think bands can have a challenge making a song sound 'right'. :)

of course this is JUST my opinion. And in general my opinion is the minority!

I agree! The reason I don't like 'wedding bands' much is because of stuff like Dancing with the Stars, I don't like the way bands sound sometimes when they play popular music (that's someone else's song).

when a band is really, really good, - you think its the real thing, plus the live energy!!!!

I've never had that feeling even with bands that are supposed to be really good. Except for specialty bands like swing or salsa.

We choose a Band-Stolen Moment. We are having a 10 piece band for 4 hours and a DJ from the same company for another hour because we love to party!

DJ - I'm not big on other people covering some of my favorite songs. I rather hear the original.

We decided on a dj....we would to love to have a band but the bands we liked we too much $$.
I am sooo excited though ton have Long Island Sound dj our wedding - we added a percussionist to add something to the music as well.
