Since I couldn't 'talk' to him about it, I decided to e-mail him this 25000000000000000 word email. I explained everything as best as I could and my reasons for wanted to use which account for what...and....IT WORKED!!! He was misunderstanding everything I was saying for some reason and just wasn't getting it, but once he read it and was THEN able to ask questions, he totally got it. I am so happy!!!! This is going to make our lives so much easier!!!!!

YAY glad he is listening now. Dont blame him though he was doing it without realizing he was disappointing you. Sometimes when ppl are just talking about what should be done i can lose my concentration too so the email was a great idea bc it really sinks in what you are saying. The fact that hes will now is a huge step so youll get to where you want eventually.

well i was aggrivated bc when I was trying to explain what i was talking about, he kept cutting me off and I couldn't talk....i do the same thing though but i'm happy we are in agreement now. i used to do the same thing to my mother when i was little...if i felt i couldn't explain myself talking to someone, i'd write letters. haha some things never change!

Angela, can you send that email to my FH now????

FH and I have talked about finances many times but for various reasons (both he and I get direct deposits for paychecks into our seperate accounts) we're keeping seperate accounts but opening up one joint account into which both of us can make withdrawls and deposits into- mainly for the household use and vacation and holiday stuff.

Fh and I are doing extactly the same. We want to combine everything but at the same time leave somthing serpeate for little things we like. We're pretty much on the same page when it comes to investing, though he's more of a risk taker than i am.

yeah fh does that too sometimes but yeah i cant get that mad either bc i do the same. I prefer letters too, this way you get to say everything you want to say and they get to hear it all.

i'm glad you guys resolved the issue!

my FH doesn't have any problems with saving/investing $$ but he didn't even own a credit card until 3 years after we started dating! he only used his debit card which had a savings and checking acct attached to it. finally when we moved in together i made him open up a credit card because I didn't want us to get screwed later on for him not having any credit history!
