Re: Banquet Manager and Maitre' D

I believe it is the opposite. The person you book with is usually considered the Banquet Manager, and the person who runs the show on your wedding day is the Maitre' D.

Re: Banquet Manager and Maitre' D

The BM usually is the one you make all your arrangements with, like your final count, the menu choices, napkin folds, etc. You give your wedding things to her/him (table plans, place cards, unity candle, cake topper, cake knife and server etc) to take care of for your day and s/he is the one who you deal with for all your questions and planning. The maitre d oversees the wedding on your day of (tables, food etc). On your wedding day normally he matire d is tipped between $3-$5 pp. The BM gets a percentage of what you pay the RH so they don't get tipped.

The person u sign the contract w/ is usually the BM. The Maitre D is the person who handles everything the day of the wedding----kind of like the maitre d at a restaurant----the person who oversees the event.
