baptismal certificates
I was told we can get them up to 6 months before the wedding. Does anyone know how to go about doing this?

did you call the church where you were baptized?
Just call the church where you were baptized. They will have it on record. The church that FH and I are getting married at also told me to make sure that my baptismal church has my confirmation date (since it was 2 different churches) as well because they need that on the back of the baptism certificate that I get for the wedding . . . HTH
You can call or go to the church where you were baptized. My mother didn't know hte name of hte church where I was baptized so I had to get my communion and confirmation certificates from 2 other churches. 1 church was really good about it and mailed it to me with a few days. THe other church was so slow. 3 weeks went by and I hadn't recieved anything from the other church so I went to the church myself. They looked me up in a book and handed me a certificate. It took 5 minutes. So You may want to go to the church directly if you're pressed for time.
'up to 6 months?'. We called the churches in which we were baptized last summer to get them, right after we met with the priest. Was that too early? We're not getting married until this November! I hope they're still 'valid' by then! ay, ay, ay,...
the church you get baptised in should have records of when you did all of your sacraments even if it was 3 different churches..
I called the Church where I was baptized and had them send copies of the documents straight to the Church where I'm getting married. The Church on LI then called me to confirm they received them.
I think every church is different. Mine requires that you get them within 6 months of getting married...so I can't get mine until at least the middle of May.
Thanks girls....that was a big help!
