Bar Association Weddings/JPSGIRL

Hey there. JPS GIRL: It's funny you mentioned 15th and West because I just found out about it and it looks great. Any tips or comments?

Anybody who's had any experience, please share! Also - any info on this place always helps. I'm going to check it out in a few weeks when I'm in town... THANKS!

Re: Bar Association Weddings/JPSGIRL

Hi. The bar association was recommended to me because I didn't want the Sand Castle (for no other reason than it wasn't my style) yet I needed something close to my parents home because my grandparents are ill. (unfortunately, my grandpa died monday night). Like I said they don't advertise, so people usually find out about them by word of mouth. Marie the maitre'd is great, very down to earth. I have heard the food is great, the cocktail room is very very elegant, the wedding room itself is nice. The chairs are not so elegant, but she says that they may be getting new chairs, otherwise there are chair covers, but they are expensive. (not enough of a reason not to have a wedding here - the chairs match the room, they are just a little old) My only source of anxiety is that it can't hold more than 200 comfortably, and I had to chop down my list. We haven't chosen our menu yet, see if you can schedule a tasting when you're in town, we had a free full course meal including a bunch of apps, filet mignon (which is $7 extra pp) and salmon. We loved everything but the rice side dish which she said we could change. The only other thing my FH is not happy with is that they will not serve bottles, only bottles poured into glasses. She says this is becuase it makes for nicer pictures and less clutter on the tables. he says his hockey friends are going to lose it if they have to drink out of a glass, lol. Anyway, I'm probably boring a lot of other people, if you need more info email me, [email protected]. The pp price for a sat night was 80$, and the best thing was that we did not have to wait till 7 or 8 oclock for an evening wedding, since the latest our church would have us is 3:00. Actually, there is an extra charge if you want it to start after 7. Mine is going 6-11.

There is also a picture of the room where the cocktail hour is typically held on http://www.nassaubar.org/
In the photo the room is completely empty, so you have to use your imagination.
