bar in or out

bar in or out

if you had a choice, would you prefer the bar inside the ball room or outside? i think i would rather have it in the room.

I say inside. I went to a wedding where the bar was outside and everyone was out there most of the night. The band was pretty much playing for no one! JMO.

If you have table service for drinks, I would have it outside so people aren't making lines in the ball room. If not I would have it in the ball room so your guests aren't wandering around.

we had both, which was great b/c the other bar gave people a place to hang out and smoke their cigars and cigarettes without disturbing the rest of the guests. But it did backfire b/c my DH missed the best man toast b/c he was hanging out there with his buddies!

Depends on if you want smoking in the room. If you dont want smoking in the main room, better to have it outside so people can smoke there. If you dont mind the smoke, inside is better.

Our bar was right outside of the main room and had little table and chairs there. A bunch of people set up camp there which sort of annoyed me since they werent participating in the action. But now that I think of it, Id rather them enjoy themselves right outside than be out of the building completely (b/c they had to smoke) or be miserable at their tables.

Also - our reception site had waiters bring drinks to the table if asked so not everyone had to go get their drinks if they didnt want to.

Maybe a few rolling bars inside & a main bar outside the room for those that like to chat,smoke&drink and may not be at the same table!

Both - I have one bar outside in the cocktail area which is a covered deck and inside in the ball room. Heck I dont care. There is going to be someone filling my drink up for me all night

I agree w/Oct03 ... I also went to a fairly large wedding where the bar was outside. That's where the guests were, too! Table service + the inside bar should be enough to serve your guests AND keep them inside the room, too!

just like octbride03 we have been to 2 weddings where the bar was outside and no one was inside the room. we were all hanging out at the bar. the bride and groom were upset that no one was inside.

plus if you go outside to get booze by the time you get back to your seat you drank it all so you have to go back to the bar and just wind up staying there so you dont have to keep going back and fourth.

Bar will be inside.

Our bar is in the library next door, plus there will be waiters and waitresses taking orders. There will be plenty of drink to go around.

Inside..but I hate leaving the room for a drink!

I had the main bar inside the room...no choice in my hall. It has a gorgeous bar in the room. One of the things we fell in love with. After the cocktail hour, we had the bar that was off of the cocktail hour room turned into a smoking lounge so the smokers did not have to freeze outside.

Another reason we picked the hall it has 2 bars in the room which are in the wall! I have been to other weddings where the bar is outside room and there are usually a lot of people holding the bar up...
