DH is a health/nutrition nut and I'm not far behind him. I strongly suggest you eat oatmeal for breakfast. Not the instant stuff (you might as well eat cookies if you do instant!) - the regular oats. I know it's not the tastiet thing ever but you can add tons of things that are really good for you ie: raisins, blueberries, honey, cinnamon, strawberries, milk etc. You have anti-oxidants and other metabolism boosting ingredients in there. DH eats this 5 days a week for breakfast - I made fun of him when I first saw it. Now I eat it with him and it's delish! Good luck!

Oatmeal is great...i wouldnt necessarily agree wtih the fact that eating instant is like eating a cookie...especially if you eat the plain variety. I have one packet of oatmeal if i don't have the quick cooking oats and 3 egg whites eachd ay! Flls me up for sure!

There's tons of info on this but here's just a little background
Oats are comprised of two parts. The bran, and the endosperm (flour). When processing oats for consumption, the endosperm is separated from the bran, and in the case of “instant” oatmeal, the endosperm is then steamed, rolled flat, and the process repeated. The greater the extent of processing, the faster the oats will cook. Naturally, more processing means less nutrition, so the convenience for the consumer means that “instant oatmeal” is actually among the least healthy types of oatmeal we can buy.

I understand that but i'd rather eat the least healthy type of oatmeal than sugary cereals ya know?
