Barbados Hotels

The cruise that we are going to book for our HM leaves out of Barbados 2 days after our wedding- so we are going to head down early- has anyone stayed at a hotel that they can recommend (or if you stayed someplace horrible- tell me that too

holy moses, I just got back from Barbados. DO NOT stay at the almond beach village or Almond beach resort and spa!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was so bad I wrote an email to the general manager!!!!!!!


I heard though that they have a hilton there and its BEAUTIFUL........there is also SANDY LANE. Thats where Tiger Woods got married!!

Why was Almond so bad? I had looked into staying here awhile back adn thought it looked nice...

Oh, it does look beautiful online....thats why we booked it BUT looks are decieving!!!!
Here are some more specifics.......
Dead bugs in the room, cockroach in the bathtub, VERY unfriendly staff. the housekeeping........we were there for 5 days and they only came to clean our room twice!!!! Yes, we had the little sign on the door letting them know we needed the room cleaned. Um, every 5 feet you walk on the beach the locals are asking if you want to buy marijuana, people that do the water stuff (jet skis, bananna boat etc) were all smoking marijuana..........Oh and the best......we were in the RENOVATED part of the resort............AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA yeah right, sure we were. It looked like it was renovated 10 years ago.
Im sure I can go on but thats a few of the big complaints we had.

FH and I went to Barbados for a week after I graduated from college. We stayed at Turtle Beach Resort and it was GREAT!!! All of the staff were amazing.

This was three years ago, so things may have changed but it was a great place.

Just a few pointers about Barbados in general... It's a very British island and you need to dress for dinner. (men in button downs and ladies in skirts etc)... Bridgetown is a little scary but overall a very 'safe' place.

One MUST do... The Jolly Roger Pirate cruise. We missed it the first time we were there so we made sure we did it on the last cruise we were on (the one that we got engaged on!!!)
