If you know of any place that's similar to places on the LES, that would be appreciated too. Though I think that *might* be wishful thinking on my part.
Places with an extensive beer list would be appreciated too. Live music is a plus, jukebox that is not full of U2, John Mayer and Kings of Leon is also a definite plus.

It's not on the Upper East Side, actually on Midtown/Uppper West Side is Flute. It's a champagne bar that I thought was somewhat classy when I went a few years ago. They have champagne, and different cocktails involving champagne, and they also had cordials.
I believe it was near Studio 54....maybe 54th Street and 5th Ave?

Check there and see if they have a menu. They should have something you like.
If you're willing to go a little downtown, there was a bar in the Chelsea Hotel (something that begins with an S) that was pretty coool. Very loungy. Def no frat boys (I'm marrying a frat boy, so I know all about them).
Also, there is Park, it's in the Chelsea area...I think 10th Avenue or so and in the 20s. Great mojitos (mango and raspberry) and AWESOME martinis (try the watermelon - it tastes like a jolly rancher and they use real watermelon!).

Aww, thanks - Flute looks really cute, but we're looking for straight-up boozing...it's too classy for the crowd I hang with, LOL!
I should keep it in mind as a potential date night for FH and I, though!
If we go to Chelsea, I'll keep that place in mind. Though if we go to Chelsea, we're heading to the Trailer Park Cafe

If you want straight up boozing, go to Crocodile....free pizza with every beer. But then, that place is like a college bar. And it's full of beer. And pizza.
There was a lovely bar on 8th Avenue in Chelsea (why do I keep finding myself in this area?), where the bartenders were female and wearing bikinis. We got the first round comped. But um.....it was odd. I do recall getting very drunk here.
If you want food and drink, you can't beat Dallas BBQ. They're all over Manhattan, they have CHEAP ribs (and other stuff) and HUGE frozen mixed drinks for under ten bucks. Affordable and yummy!
I'm really not a good person for places in Manhattan to go to!

Becky's on First Ave and ... the low 60s. I can't remember exactly which block. It's pretty laid back and they have munchies if you get hungry, but I don't remember if there's live music there. Also O'Flanagan's on First and 65th.

I haven't been to the UES in a long time but Mad River Bar and Grill was pretty good. It's a big bar with a dance floor. I don't think they usually have live music though.

Dorians (84th and 2nd)

The Bullpen is Great it is on 88th and 1st and my other favorite is Ryan's Daughter and that is on 85th between 1st and 2nd

Our apt is on 77th street... some low key neighborhood bars I would recommend, based on your criteria: Bar Coastal, American Trash, Doc Watson's
They're all within a few blocks of each other so you could do a little bar crawl. My favorite out of these 3 is DW's. Hi Life is near there too which someone else already recommended.

I live on UES!
Becky's is on my corner, on First b/t 63rd and 64th. Its fine, good for FH who plays golden tee there! I like Baker Street on my corner actually, 63rd and First Avenue. Fun Fact: Baker Street is where the first ever TGIFriday's was !
