I totally forgot about making up a basket with stuff for the ladies bathroom at the reception. Does anyone have some ideas of what I could put in it and should I make one for the men's room?

Definately check with your reception hall first. My mom made a basket for my sister's wedding with the following essentials. When we went to drop it off, they said they provided that. So they put it in the bridal suite for the bridal party instead (which was very nice). The other thing they told us was by NY State Law you can't have any type of medication - so we removed that and put it in our 'bridal bag'. Anyway I hope this helps:

You are not SUPPOSED to have anything, but a few little gestures are really nice...
I've made a few up before that have:
Gum or mints, Advil/Tylenol/whatever (i like the trial packs) Little hairbrushes or combs Hairspray and bobby pins Perfume/Cologne Mini sewing kit (complete with safety pins and extra button) Clear Nailpolish (i love that one!) Trial packs of tissues for them to take back out to the dance floor, And if need be, add a nice bottle of scented hand soap and one of moisturizer next to the sink...the generic kinds at some halls/restaurants really stink!
Put them all in a nice basket with a sweet note (there is a cute rhyme floating around somewhere that indicates the basket goodies are from the bride and groom...) and the bathroom will look so great!

oh, also add rolaids.
I was at a wedding once at Oheka with a REALLY bad hangover from the night before and they absolutely saved my life.

Bunnymonkey- the deodorant is a spray can so people can share it,
and PLEASE put deodorant in the bathroom baskets! I'm always searching for some after dancing all night long

I think.. well HOPE it would be the spray on kind.
I wanted to do it originally but just check with your hall first. Mine actually does this for you PLUS I really didnt feel like spending all that $$ and having other people be able to use it! ( my hall does 2 events at a time)

make sure you ask your hall if they provide this.... i had an affair there 10 years ago and they did
i know my hall now provides it and i just found out the other day

I was thinking of doing that but my CH has 8 ballrooms and I'm not sure how many other Brides will be there on my day, too many guests and unknowns in and out of the bathroom all day...right now I'm concentrating on our bridal suites we have 2
