Bath Fitters?

Bath Fitters?

Has anyone used this service. It is where they come and put an acrylic tub over yours and also up to the ceiling, it looks like tiles.

Has anyone ever done this?

Thanks.

I am curious about this too. Never bothered to try it.

I did have someone come over and 're-seal' my tub though. It came out not too bad... considering the price I paid. Looks much better than it did when I moved in. I have a small chip that I need to fix though... chipped it by dropping the shampoo bottle on the tub.

my mom did it. she had it done in white and its very hard to clean. she likes it but honestly it was expensive she paid like 2 grand. for that you can get a new tub and have it installed.

My mom has this in her house and she thinks it is the best invention ever. I clean the bathroom all the time and find this tub to be the easiest thing I have ever cleaned.

Has anyone used the 'tiles' up to the ceiling or just the tub covering?

My mom is actually getting the tiles up the wall and the ceiling done this week. I will let you know how it turns out.

Thank you. Do you have a phone number I can call? I left a message on the number from their web site. Someone from the Manhattan location called due to my work number. I haven't heard from a LI rep yet and I'm anxious to get some quotes.

Have a great weekend.

Also, does anyone know how it works if say you have some kind of leak, how would it get fixed if you have that one long sheet, I don't see how they can get to the pipes.

Thanks.

My mother's friends got it done and it turned out really great.

My mom had her bathroom done a few years ago and has had no problems. She had the walls and everything done. It's really easy to clean.

I have tile up to the celing and even on the celing in the shower enclosure.
this way the celing never gets mositure or moldy!
My DH own a tile company and insists that this is the best way. he says that mold and mildew can grow behind the bath fitter thing because it's slid on and not sealed with the wall.
If you have your tub area redone you can add tile corner shelves and even a niche to put shampoo...

For the ladies that know people who used this, was the Company they used Bathfitters or the ReBath system.

Thanks so much.

This is the exact reason why I would never get this done. You would never know what ugliness is growing behind the bath fitter. YUCK.

FYI-- it is sealed to the wall. And mold & mildew grow behind tiles too, that is how they become loose.

DH had one in his old apartment. It was sealed to the wall so the mold/mildew thing wasn't an issue at all. It was easy to maintain and looked great. His had molded shelves for shower products & a handle.

We had a slip on in DH's old apartment and it grew mildew after a few years. I would get it replaced. It was a pain to clean.
