Bath questions

Does anyone else's child scream bloody murder in the tub??

Also ~ how often does your child take a bath? Nicolas takes a bath every other day, and the mere thought of doing it every day makes me want to set my hair on fire and run screaming through the streets...

Re: Bath questions

Since Rebecca is in daycare, I do it every night, but she doesn't mind it. I talk to her during it, and make fun out of whatever I'm doing. It takes about 10 minutes to do the whole bath (hair included) now...

Re: Bath questions

Ryan used to scream bloody murder and it was such a huge production that I couldn't bear it. Now he really likes it - he started liking it better at about 5 months or so. He only gets a bath every other day - he has dryish skin so bathing too often makes it worse - besides, how dirty is he really getting? His hands and face get washed all the time and his butt is constantly being wiped since one of his nicknames is Poop-Master Poop...

Now the face washing - he screams as if I am washing his face with knives...

Re: Bath questions

julianne HATES to have her face wiped...even iof she has a runny nose. Like she is being wiped with sandpaper!

she wimpered a bit when we gave her baths in the infant tub. After a while, she started to enjoy the tub with her rubber ducky. gave her baths 2x a week or so as she has sensitive skin....

now we have been trying to give her a bath in our regular tub. she did this fine first time in fla...now at home she cries every time we have put her in the tub..
we have done it only 2 times so far...I think we need to put the infant tub IN our tub ...and see how that works

otherwise we try to wipe her down with warm washcloth

You are KILLING me!!! Poor Nicolas!!! Give him a big kiss for me!!! He'll get used to it as he gets bigger. My nephew (hey, maybe it's the name?) used to do that and now he begs for a bath!!!

Although Gianna likes getting a bath, I only do it either every other night or every two nights because she had a bit of a problem w/dry skin, so I don't want it to come back again.

As for setting my hair on fire and running down the street -- I want to do that myself when I have to put on her jacket to leave the house!!! OMG the screams that come out of her!! I swear, I'm waiting for CSS to come knocking on my door!

Re: Bath questions

Phyl, we do the infant tub inside the big tub which seems to work fine. He has just become absolutely FASCINATED with the running water so at the end of his bath I let him stick his hands in there and play - hopefully he'll be comfortable in the big tub at some point...I still find baths to be a huge production.

And have I mentioned how much I absolutely HATE clipping his nails???
