Bathroom Attendants... what do you think of them??

I went to a wedding last night that had bathroom attendants in the bathroom... and it just made me think...If you had the choice as to whether to have them or not would you???

I dont think I would...

If I was ever not feeling well, i dont think i would feel comfortable going to the bathroom with a person just chilling on the other side not doing anything but listening... i hate when people listen when i am going to the bathroom just in general...

then they have a tip jar out there... why do you have to tip someone for just cleaning the bathroom... what service are they providing you... FH said in the men's b-room the guy was turning the water on for everyone... I think i can turn the water on myself thank you...

just a thought i had...

My mom actually wants to pay Jericho Terrace the amount of money the attendats would get in a night with tips so that they don't leave a tip jar out. She doesn't want any of the guests to feel obligated to leave a tip. I thought that was nice of her, and I totally didn't think of that option.

We have Bathroom Attendants at FT too... and I'm not really into it. I agree. I really don't want someone chilling there if I get 'sick' and I don't want a tip jar. If I see it, I'll go nuts.

I've never really given it any thought. Hmmm..

its always so akward - do i give the dollar? do i have a dollar? i left a tip last time i was in here - do i do it again? am i cheap? very stressful and all i wanted to do was go to the bathroom quick.

i don't like them. If I can't figure out what I came in there to do - I certainly don't think some non-descript woman with a hand towel is going to be able to help me!

I second that..I hate attendants. I always feel like I HAVE to tip just for handing me a paper towel. UGH! No Attendants!

I can't stand having a bathroom attendant. I hear you about having someone listen. Then they stare at you as you freshen up and then I always feel stupid not tipping.

Could you imagine that as your job, standing in a BR all night??!!

The worst is when you go to bars and there is one... UGH

I cannot stand bathroom attendants - in fact, I have been known to get into altercations with them at bars/club (god forbid i spray my hair with the hairspray and I don't tip them!).

Capitale includes bathroom attendants and I have specifically requested that they are not there - I just have huge issues with them - I want to be able to take my time in the bathroom, and I always feel rushed and stared at by the bathroom attendants...I don't want my guests to feel the same way. I think they can get their own paper towels :)

I would rather have one - esp. if its a hall that has more then one wedding at a time - esp in the ladies room -

but i think that the tip jar is rude at a wedding -

OMG!!! I would SOOO HATE that job!!! and what if it got smelly in there do you still have to stand there the whole time with a straight face???

If I was at a wedding I would expect them- but I wouldn't expect them to have a tip jar- I think that is tacky

and the reason I normally tip them at a club/bar is b/c they pay for that stuff themselves- and they don't make any money except for tips- it's a really crappy job- no pun intended
