Re: BATHROOM BASKET!!

I made one for a friends wedding and EVERYTHING was used! It was such a hit that her guests actually called her to thank her for supplying it!

I had a really cute poem in a picture frame to put next to the basket. I say do it! I got most of the stuff from the Dollar Tree!

Until I joined LIW I had no idea that these were supplied by the bride/groom!!! I always thought that they were supplied by the RH!!!!

I usually use the gum/mints and lotion or body spray!!!!

Re: BATHROOM BASKET!!

I see you are getting married at Crest Hollow...first find out if you share the bathroom with another bride. I would hate for you to supply all that stuff and the other guests used it.

Re: BATHROOM BASKET!!

Do a lot of halls provide them? I just assumed I had to make one.

ETA - I called and my RH does not include them. I will be making them.

Re: BATHROOM BASKET!!

This was the poem:

So happy you're here to share in our day!
But should something happen to go astray,
Please help yourself to the contents within,
Wet wipe, hand lotion, and even aspirin,
Please use what you need and leave the rest,
It may also be useful to another guest,
So repair the damage that may have been done,
Then hurry on back and join in the fun!

With love,
Johnny and Suzie

Re: BATHROOM BASKET!!

IMHO: they were the BIGGEST WASTE of money in my entire wedding. None of my guests had ever seen anything like it and so they thought that it was something the RH put out. Our guests (my ILs included ) took the items out of the baskets to keep them (like you would take the toiletries in hotel bathrooms). This happened despite the fact that I typed up a nice sign that was clearly on each basket saying 'use only what you need, and courtesy of the NW'. more than $100 down the drain.

To each their own, but I wish that I never put them together and spent the money on them.

Re: BATHROOM BASKET!!

I made them for my wedding. Got almost everything at the dollar store. Some of the stuff was used, and a lot of the stuff was stolen, despite having a poem saying to use what you need and leave the rest for the other guests.
