Some places already have bathroom baskets like Sandcastle. My reception location doesn't provide anything in the bathroom. I am making one. I think it is a nice touch. But it is not necessary.
ETA: Just saw you at having your reception at JT. I think they provide bathroom amenities. I would call and check.

Re: Bathroom baskets: are they necessary?
I usually poo-poo extra stuff, but I have to say I do think bathroom baskets are necessary if your hall doesn't already provide something like them. As a guest I have picked something (like dental floss, Shout cleaner cloths or hairspray) out of them. And as a BM at an outdoor wedding things like bug spray were totally essential
I would just suggest making small ones -- at least for the women's bathroom.

Re: Bathroom baskets: are they necessary?
i would recommend having them... i went to a wedding that didnt, i wound up dropping sauce on my dress...and had a headache and there was no helping either... so people will use most of what you put in there, they dont need to be extravagant but just a little something for people IN CASE...

always good to have some mints, hair spray..etc..

I think that you should have bathroom baskets. As someone else mentioned, as a wedding guest I have used stuff from them - like dental floss, hairspray...

Re: Bathroom baskets: are they necessary?
I did one, but they used it in the bridal suite instead of the bathroom because there was a party going on in another room. No one from my bridal party used it - it ws a waste of time.

Not necessary but it is a nice touch. We had one in each bathroom and a lot of things were used. It's good to have in case of emergency.

I'd only do it if my wedding was the only one there.

I agree.
Ours were ravaged. It was kinda funny when I took them out after we got home and saw how much stuff was used/taken. heheh I had to take before and after pics because it was just crazy!

Yes...JT has a bathroom attendant and she has a basket of goodies...not necessary to bring your own. She has hair spray, gum, deodorant, etc.

I dont' think it's necessary at all. If you want to do it great, but it is not at all necessary - even if yours is the only wedding going on.

Re: Bathroom baskets: are they necessary?
I don't think it's necessary. I think of myself going to a function and my huge pocketbook which always contains my entire medicine cabinet, all my makeup, gum, candy, my kitchen sink, etc. Then again not everyone carries their whole life with them, but I just think it's an extra thing to spend money on when the money can be better spent on something more necessary. Just my opinion.
