YES! Bath time doesn't mean being lowered into a pit of fiery hell anymore. We did one last night, and it was ...well parts of it were actually pleasureable I think!!! Once we got 'rubber ducky' going in the right key we were in business. Now of course, getting in is never easy. Anybody have any suggestions? Here is what I do now that produces blood curdling screams. Maybe you can help me out:
I fill the tub, run the hot water in the shower so it gets warm and steamy in the bathroom. I undress her in her nursery, wrap her in a towel and head to the bathroom - this is when the screaming starts. Then I lower her into the tub. Feet, butt, and then lower her back against the little foam support thing. Once water gets poured over her she starts to calm down.
What does everybody else do? I can't figure a way to get her naked without freaking her out.

I think that no matter what your 'routine' is, the baby will eventually just get used to it. It's not as if you are doing it 'wrong' - she probably just doesn't like feeling chilly without her clothes on.
We used to just do Paul's baths on the kitchen table....I'd put his small tub on the table, and fill it. Then I'd place a large towel folded a few times on the table (for padding), place a crib pad over that and then place the baby hooded towel over that.
I would undress him right there and get him into the tub FAST....then it was 1-2-3 and DONE and OUT and wrapped tightly in his hooded towel. Then I'd wisk him into the bedroom to dry him off, put a diaper on him and do his baby massage.

Jenny, Try this: soak a washcloth in the warm water and put this on her chest while bathing to keep her warm. Once she is sitting up put it on her back. I did this with Joseph and bathtime was instantly easier.

I agree with Claud that she will eventually get used to it. Just keep trying different things. Have you taken a bath with her? Maybe the skin to skin contact will soother her? However, I know that you want bath time to be fun and relaxing for her. We gave Lyla a bath in the infant tub in the kitchen sink. This worked our great until she started to sit up and was getting too big for it. That stupid 3-in-1 seat didn't work out for us in the next stage. So, I tried to get in the regular tub with her and even nursed her to calm her down but even that didn't work, and she just hated the big bath tub, and we were back to the kitchen sink. I recently bought the inflatable tub (for babies who can sit up) and she finally enjoys her bath again.

You would think we were putting Ryan into a pit of glass shards with the screaming and crying that went on in the beginning!! The kid hated being naked and hated the bath!!
Now, well, let's just say he loves being naked and loves the bath!!!! It's another one of those things that just gets better and easier as time goes by! Sounds like you are doing everything right, Sophia just needs to get used to her routine.

Molly just sorta looks at us unsure about what is going on. But I think once they start to splash and play more they enjoy bathtime.
I am sure Miss Sophia will learn that clean is fun

That's a HUGE moment when bath time stops being chinese water torture!
I now need to wear a rain coat ~ Nicolas splashes so much I end up drenched! I'm just glad he's enjoying himself.
