Batter Fish Fry

Batter Fish Fry

I tried McCormick's Batter Fish Fry package .. followed the instructions .. and have to say .. I can not believe how thick and gummy the batter was when coating the fish. The box says it was enough for something like 3 1/2 pounds of fish .. I had 1 1/2 pounds of fish .. but it took up nearly all the batter! And there was no way of scraping off excess .. and to stand there letting it drip off .. well I'd still be standing there a week later.

Has anyone else ever tried this stuff??? Did I do something wrong, even though I thought I followed directions???

For the record .. the fish did turn out yummy .. but if I do that again .. I'm gonna have to get much smaller pieces of fish .. because the batter makes them very, very filling.
