Bay Shore and Kings Park School Districts: opinions on teaching there?
Does anyone know the reputation of teaching in either of these districts? Salaries, union or not, ease (or not) of getting tenure?

This won't help answer your question and I don't know if you teach highschool. I just wanted to say that I went to Kings Park H.S. and while I was there we became the first (or one of the first) schools on Long Island to implement block scheduling. You have a class every other day for 80 minutes (instead on once a day for 40 minutes). This is very beneficial to both the students and the teachers. It will give you time for very interesting lectures and activities. It was especially good for science (doing experiements!) and gym (we went on field trips - bowling, golfingm, etc.). Just FYI, it may influence your decision.
Edited for spelling.

MY FMIL works for KP SD and really enjoys it! And one of our GM did his internship there as a counsler as well as my FH going there way back when! I have heard very good things from everyone about that school!
I have a friend (really a friend of a friend) who teaches at Bayshore, she likes it, she is also a BSHS grad, but thats all I know
