I just found out that they close the aboretum at 5:00 on Fridays In September. I had planned to go there after my ceremony ends at 4:30 to go take some pictures before heading to reception...
I am soooooo sad.
I heard its gorgeous there....any other places any of you recommend that are close to West Islip and the South Shore???

Hmmmm.....Islip Beach, Brookwood Hall in Islip, Argyle Park in Babylon. Hope this helps!

the very nice women on the phone said it due to vandalism....we might try cap tree too...

Captree would be really pretty too.
FH and I decided on the Arboretum because there is a tree planted in my grandfather's memory there. But our ceremony ends at probably 3:30-4 and it's in the summer. It is a nice place but there are other nice places too!
Ohhh I just thought of Gardner's Park on Montauk Hwy in Bay Shore as an idea!
