Baywood...anyone ever heard of it????

In looking on MLSLI I see homes around Deer Park/Bay Shore that are in Baywood. I know it's not a town, but I see many homes say that they are in the 'Baywood' section of BayShore.

Anyone know anything about this area

Baywood is not between Bay Shore & Brentwood.

Baywood has a Bay Shore mailing address but is part of the Brentwood school district.

The area didn't become 'known' as 'Baywood' until maybe 10 years ago .. a sign was put up at the corner of Howells Road & Bay Shore Road (on the north side of Southern State Parkway - exit 41). I'm not really sure how many people are aware that the area is 'Baywood.'

'Baywood' is a small section just off Southern State Parkway, where it splits to Sagtikos Parkway .. I think Baywood might be considered a 'hamlet.'

If there is such a thing as 'more affordable' in this real estate market .. Baywood would be one of those areas. I've always thought the area was decent .. and even considered houses in that area when we were in the market for a house about 6 years ago, though we found a great house in another town.

I'll see if I can find a map to make it easier on explaining the location of Baywood.

Baywood is:

North of W. Bay Shore Road
South of Pine Aire Drive
East of Sagtikos Parkway
West of Brookdale Ave
(Brookdale Ave. is the long, unnamed street on the map image to the right of Brook Ave.)

You'll notice on a map, Bay Shore & Brentwood are actually to the east of 'Baywood.'
