i went to bed bath and beyond to return stuff from my shower that i don't need and it turns out they don't give cash back anymore!! you get a BBB credit.
it's still my favorite registry, but just know that you'll only get store credit, whether it was on your registry or not.

are you sure about that? I went on Wednesday and returned something and they gave me cash for it - they told me I could choose between cash and store credit. When did you go? Did you make it clear it was off of your registry? The girl didn't give me any indication that the policy was changing... maybe they made a mistake at the store you went to?

it was very clear that it was registry returns. i even called over a manager. she said they recently changed the policy and there's no cash back. this was the bbb in oceanside

I was just looking at the registry section on their website and it doesnt mention anything about cash refunds. Did it used to?
I havent registered yet but was all about BB&B because all of you raved about this policy...

go to the store and when tey tell you they wont give cash, call 1800 go beyond. i just called and they said to call fro the store...they lie!!!!!

Wow... that's VERY misleading. You can't bait people into registering with your store and then change the policy. I will definitely argue it when it's time to make my returns because a LOT of people made purchase from their store because of my registry, and that policy was a BIG reason why I registered with them. I think we can fight this...

what BBB does the cash?! not that it matters bc im sure it will change again b4 my shower! my concern is since i live in NC now i wanted to return the bigger gifts for cash so i can rebuy them once i get home again...just for travel reasons! well i guess i can do that w/ store credit as well..hmmmm bummer!

they all have to, i just calles the 1800 number. the guy said the policy is for all stores and is not changing...just casll the 800 num from the store if they say they cant do it.

I was just reading that in the booklet today!! I was SO looking forward to the cash!!
BUT since I didn't get everything off my registry, I would have used the cash for the leftover items anyway.

Their registry booklet. It doesn't say cash back, it only talked about how good their registry return is. But it only mentions exchanges?
But who knows. If they say they give cash, then go for it!!
