A friend told me that she went to BB&B recently to buy something off of her friends wedding registry and a day after it was purchased, it still wasn't removed when the bride checked her registry online. Has this happened to anyone else?

Same here, but it happens everywhere.

Yea it happens, but to be honest, BB&B is one of the best when it comes to making sure things come off the registry.

It happens... I usually check the registry the next day anytime I buy anything and if it doesn't come off I all customer service and ask them to make the change on the registry.

Re: BB&B Registry Issue
I went to BBB on Sunday to order a gift for FH's cousin and when I went home to see if it came off, it was gone. I'm sure things don't always work so well though.

I was specifically told NOT to register there. Aside from registry issues, they are known to give out broken items and nothing is wrapped or boxed nicely. I did all of my registering at fortunoff and have already received many beautiful wrapped items in perfect condition. Register at fortunoff-they have it all!

I agree! Not only that but she can return it and get cash or exchange it for other things

I disagree with this. I've never recieved anything broken from BB&B and all my gifts have come wrapped beautifully with gorgeous bows and paper. I've never had an issue with them at all. Plus, BB&B is cheaper for your guests because they have the 20% off coupons that they can use and you can return anything you dont want and get cash back instead of a store credit like Macys and Fortunoffs.

I'm done registering but thanks. As for broken/unwrapped items - I've ordered from BBB for friends before and nothing was ever broken or unwrapped/not boxed nicely. Everything was in perfect condition.

Re: BB&B Registry Issue
I kind of was pressured into getting a registry there... My mother thought I needed more then 1 place becuase a lot of our guest are OOT and they don't have Fortunoff's everywhere.
My expierence so far... not so good... my FH brother got us our Kitchen Aid mixer... and that is in a big box itself... and they sent it in a BIG BIG box with no padding or anything so it was just bouncing all around when the Fed Ex man dropped it off... when we took eveyrhting out of the box... it didn't work We then had to exchange it.
My Aunt bought us our Wine Refigerator and she specificly requested them to wrap it... and it wasn't sent wrapped at all.
everything else has been ok.
Fortunoff's hasn't been much better though... we received about 8 gifts from them in the mail... about 4 of them had NO WRITTING ON THE CARD! I needed to call them each time and find out who the gift was from...
Anywho... I guess no one is perfect... but I love getting my presents hehehehe

I'm glad you had a wonderful experiance with BB&B, the post was up and I'm only telling everyone what my family and friends have told me from past experiances. I'm sure everyone has different experiances everywhere (good and bad)and so far, mine has been good at Fortunoff!!

Re: BB&B Registry Issue
i was registered at both as well. no major problems with bb&b. i HATE fortunoff. my mom purchased our bedroom set (over $3k king bed with leather headboard, dresser, side table, leather ottoman, mirror). we received the bed may 10 2006. on dec 5 2006 one of the wood rails that holds up the long slats shattered. i wont go into details but lets just say that today, may 1 2007, the bed is still not fixed. on saturday we are having our 4th visit with the furniture repair company (fortunoff outsources this). its all under warranty but this is BY FAR the worst experience i have had with anything like this ever. i removed all of my stuff from their registry and will NEVER register with them or purchase from them ever again. its not so much that the bed broke - things like that happen (and NO we werent doing anything fun - FH just sat down and it shattered under him ). my problem is that they have the absolute poorest customer service in history. forget about the customer is always right with them.. its more like the customer gets the run around for several months and will hopefully at some point give up.. so anyway lesson learned - high priced products dont mean A+ customer service..

Yup, that's happened to us soooo many times already! At my first shower, I received three of the same canister set and we only registered for one!

Re: BB&B Registry Issue
sometimes it happens.... i never saw or heard about a day after it is purchased ~ I have heard like if two people go shopping the same day... and shopper #1 and shopper #2 purchased the same item ~ there will be a duplicate!
