I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to register tonight. I can't BELIEVE their return policy, so I thought I'd share:
1. You can return anything from your registry for cash. 2. You don't need a receipt - the fact that it was on your registry is enough. 3. You can return USED merchandise - the customer service manager told me that, for example, if I don't like the way my pots and pans are holding up after six or seven months of use, I can return them. For cash. Or if I don't like the way my sheets are holding up after a few months of using and washing them, I can return them. For cash.
Huh???? How do they stay in business? But... good for me!

Re: BBB's return policy is awesome!
I know, it's amazing! It's not only for registry items either. I had a foam pillow and I washed the outer cover and it broke when I tried to get it back on and I took it back to BBB without a receipt and they let me not only take a new one, but gave me a receipt with it in case I need to exchange it again for some reason.

Wow!! That's great to know. I knew about the return for cash policy but not the used merchandise. I am definitely gonna set up a registry there. Thanx for sharing!!!

Seriously, I don't know how they stay in business.
I registered for a bunch of stuff but couldn't find any china... PLEASE show me yours! I posted a thread for it and no one is answering me. I'm desperate! I can't put FH through another weekend of following me around a department store comparing the width of black stripes around the edges of plates.

Re: BBB's return policy is awesome!
they have an amazing return policy! makes me want to do all of my shopping there. i ended up taking everything off fortunoff and switching it over to BBB, so they clearly do plenty of business.
I don't know how they stay in business though.... we got a lot of engagement gifts at our e-party in NY even though we live out of state and there was no way to get it all back with us. (most people sent things to us beforehand). we took it all to BBB to see if we could turn it in at the NY store and have them pull it at the store out here (like they do with college merchandise). They said they couldnt, in case the store out here didnt have everything, but instead they had us return it in NY and rebuy it out here (they pulled what they did have out here for us).
So.... we got full cash price back for everything from our registry (even though we knew a lot of friends/family used the 20% off coupons) and then rebought it all when we got back here, using BBB gift cards we had received AND 20% coupons for everything. We made so much money...
I don't know how they do it, but apparently they still do great business. I've never seen a BBB store close down...

Yep!! That's where we registered too! There policy is great and everyone in the registry department was so sweet and helpful (at least where we went-the one in Westbury). And you can call them to order as many registry cards (for the bridal shower) as you need (free of charge). I called and asked for more and got 5 packages the same week!

Only certain BBB's carry a full china section. The one in West babylon doesn't but the one in Westbury does. The one in westbury has a full section and the woman that works there, actually walks around with you. She has a tiny table on wheels and as you buy things, she sets it up on your table (so you can see how everything will look). She was soooo helpful! I am attaching pics of my good china and my every day. The good china is opal innocence by Lenox and for the everyday, FH and I combined two seperate sets that we liked. One is multi colored with and the other one is cream with green edges. They look a little funny in the picture but I love how they look when placed together. HTH's!
So glad to hear all that. Funny as FH's mom says 'You really need to register at Macy's' ... He piped up and said 'BBB is awesome, Mom, they have everything we want.' Ha ha! I did register at Macy's but for like four things. I couldn't find anything I wanted

Sorry Dava, we're stuck with china too, we couldn't find anything we loved so we haven't registered for that yet, good luck!

Just to clarify...it has to be marked AS PURCHASED on your registry to get the cash...if you return an item and the person who bought it didnt tell them it was a registry item you can only get a store credit.
But i love that they do that. I work at BBB when i hear that i was floored!! lol

Re: BBB's return policy is awesome!
If they give you a store credit back, don't worry. You can go in and buy a washclosh, and they will ask you if you want the balance back as a store credit or as CASH.
Errrmm.... cash please?

what store do u shoip at?? we are not allowed to do that unless it is under $5...otherwise we have to give store credit back....i have worked there for 3 years. we are not allowed to give cash back on a store credit
just dont want anyone to get the wrong information.. like if you return a $300 stand mixer you cant buy a wash cloth and get $298 back in cash......
