BBB's return policy is awesome!

Original post by DavaDay

I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to register tonight. I can't BELIEVE their return policy, so I thought I'd share:

1. You can return anything from your registry for cash.
2. You don't need a receipt - the fact that it was on your registry is enough.
3. You can return USED merchandise - the customer service manager told me that, for example, if I don't like the way my pots and pans are holding up after six or seven months of use, I can return them. For cash. Or if I don't like the way my sheets are holding up after a few months of using and washing them, I can return them. For cash.

Huh???? How do they stay in business? But... good for me!

If they give you a store credit back, don't worry. You can go in and buy a washclosh, and they will ask you if you want the balance back as a store credit or as CASH.

Errrmm.... cash please?

what store do u shoip at?? we are not allowed to do that unless it is under $5...otherwise we have to give store credit back....i have worked there for 3 years. we are not allowed to give cash back on a store credit

just dont want anyone to get the wrong information.. like if you return a $300 stand mixer you cant buy a wash cloth and get $298 back in cash......

IRight now I live in St. Louis while I'm finishing up law school, and the stores out here work like that. Didn't realize they might not all have that policy. I was shocked the first time it happened (and usually when I have returns I end up buying other stuff while I'm there) but they have always given me back the balance in cash. It has always been over $50...

Yup this is why it's one of the reasons why I registered there.

I know, it's awesome. We had to return some stuff over the weekend. They didn't even ask us how we wanted it back...they just gave us cash. So FH bought a fishtank for the house...he really wanted one and HE didn't really get any gifts...it works out really well that way.
