We are going to a BBQ E-party on Sat. On the evite they requested 'no presents only your presence' I think we should get them something anyway. What would you do?
DH suggested a gift cert to BB&Beyond?
I was thinking a nice photo frame or some kind of basic decor item/ kinda wedding related.
They aren't registered anywhere yet.

Who wouldn't love a GC to BB&B? Or the universal gift = cash!

Re: BBQ E-Party No presents?
I would give them cash. I never met anyone who couldn't use that. I just had my E-party and we got several gifts, and now they are in our small room that we rent cluttering everything. Thank goodness we are moving soon. But seriously the properly don't have the space for gifts. If you know the couple is NOT hurting for money, could always put a donation in their name to a charity they would like to give too. If you know the couple is tight, money, checks, gifts cards to walmart, target, or supermarkets help out a lot. Or do you know whats really nice, a gas gift card. With the price in gas, offering to fill up their tank is a nice jester.

You could always do something simple like a bottle of wine or champagne. Or you can keep with the bbq-type theme and get them a picnic basket.

JMO, but I would do gift card. I wouldnt do cash, though like other suggested. It may look kind of funny since they stated on the invite no gifts. They may feel kind of funny about receiving that. But GC's are always safe. This way they can get something that they could really use or really want.

I agree this is a great gift. Most people are saving for the wedding so a nice dinner just isn't in the budget. Surely the couple will appreciate a night out on you!

Re: BBQ E-Party No presents?
we put that on our eparty invites and every single person bought a present. I felt so bad. We didn't want any more stuff we really just wanted a party and for 'our families' to meet, because we had been dating for 6 years and our families had never once met.
that said, if I was invited to an eparty, I'd probably bring a small gift (picture frame) or card with cash. Something inconspicious, so others who didn't bring anything didn't feel uncomfortable.
