BC

How long have you ladies been on it. I know super personal sorry. How long do you think it ok to be on it? Can it affect your chances of having a baby? I know that I have to call my dr. but I was just wondering what you ladies thought. Thanks!

I have to be on it, I think its ok to be on for a while, though I have heard that they suggest you switch them now and then. Not 100% sure though since I have switched many times for my health reasons.

ive been on it off and on. this go 'round has been about a year. i am planning on getting off shortly after the wedding. it can make it a little more challenging to get preg if you have been on it for an extended period of time. like with any medication your body has to adjust to the changes when you stop taking it.

I was on BC pills for 11 years (ortho tricyclen)- I switched last year to the paraguard IUD b/c I get severe migraines and both my neurologist and gynocologist felt I should not take horomones any more. I hated the IUD at first b/c my period was very heavy but it only lasted a few months. NOW I love not having to think about bc.

I have been on it for 6 years and I have switches from regular to low dosage. I'm hoping once we are married and have a house that I can come off it. I do want to be a little selfish and have some us time before a baby comes around

they say you can be on it as long as you want. in some studies, it actually reduces your chances of getting certain cancers later in life - like ovarian, i think.

I have been on it close to 7 years now ( i think, maybe 6) and I only switched brands twice. Its perfectly safe and you have to be off it for about 2-3 months before you can get preggers... HTH

I've been on for 14 months. I am actually going to 'detox' this month to see how I feel.

I'm not one for taking pills and I have to think this has an effect...every Doctor says it's ok but I have not had a normal cycle for over a year...hoping that a month of no pills will resolve this.

I have been on it for 19 years! According to my doctor, it is fine to stay on it as long as you like.
