i just started taking yasim - and i have been having pains in my legs - but i never associated it w/ the pill until today.
has anyone who takes BC pills had this problem? should i be worried?
i called my gyno and he said go to a general practicioner - i have an appointment for that monday.
help!!
seriously - my legs hurt so much right now that i have been putting off getting up and going to the bathroom cause i dont want to walk there....
***update***
thanks to everyone's advice i did go to the ER last night and get my legs checked out. they did an ultra sound on my legs and found no clots. they attributed it to an increase in estrogen - which can cause cramping. he simply advised i check again w/ my gyno and in the meantime take ibruprofen to help with the pain. so i am glad that it is over and everything will be ok.
thanks everyone for all the help yesterday - i got alot of questions answered by a lot of you and just knowing others experiences helped me determine how to handle mine.
thanks again

Re: bc pills...
I'd stop taking them now. I know someone who went off BC b/c of leg cramps and blot clots. IMO, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Re: bc pills...
If you've been of 5 pills you could be sensitive to hormones. I don't do hormonal bc because I've tried them all, several pills, the patch, the ring and the most dreaded Depo. I couldn't stand them and gave them all 3-6 months at least to work. I had lots of not nice issues like infections, no sex drive, emotional issues and even breathing problems on the best/lowest dosage pill. Some people just can't handle hormones well. I hope you are ok though, good luck!

Thank God it's nothing serious!!
As inconvenient as alternative methods are, I decided that it was worth the 'annoyance' for my health and got off BCP right after the HM. There are just too many 'common' side effects for me to deal with. Not even getting into 'uncommon' territory. And the longer you are on hormones, the older you get and your lifestyle all play a role. No thanks!
Good luck!!

That's great news.
BC can be scary....my mom went on it about 7 years ago b/c she just couldn't take the pain from cramps anymore.....fast forward to a few months ago...something just wasn't right and she kept wanting to drink like freakin' fish....so her mom suggested being tested to see if she was about to begin menopause...turns out she was POST menopausal at 44 and likely had been there for YEARS. Be careful with that stuff ladies...she had NO estrogen in her body at all. NONE. Now she's on HRT and feels much better and is almost loving the hot flashes as she used to ALWAYS freeze!

So glad you're ok. I really hate the fact that I'm so sensitive to hormones because life would be much easier if I could just take a pill or whatever but I'd rather be healthy and free of excess hormones than be stubborn and keep taking that crap.
