BC question..

Ok,
So I started BC this Sun. and every time I take it my eyes begin to hurt...ok, hurt may be a strong word...its kinda like when youve stayed up all night studying for an exam...kinda how you feel once you wake up in the morning...is this a common side effect of BC??? I know the package inserts says that it may interfer with the use of contacts (which I use but have had no problems with )

i've never experienced that but i've heard its a side effect. my advice is to drink more water. it sounds like the hormones are drying u up.

You heard that the dry eye is a common side effect or the interference with contacts is a common side effect?

R U sure it's not ur contacts? Call ur ob/gyn and tell her/him and see what they say. I am having a ton but none of them have to do with my eyes, just the standard, weight gain, bitchiness, breast enlargment, breaking out, bitchiness, crying doing wedding related stuff, rage, did I say bitchiness? I will be lucky if FH sticks around till the wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yup I've heard the same thing- totally forgot about that, i was told that way back that your contacts could start acting up on you when I started taking them. I never felt any side effects with my contacts though....

See...I have no problems with my contacts. The entire day Im fine..but 5mins after taking my pill my eyes begin to get dry and hurt a bit...but then in the morning when I get ready to put my contacts on..it doesnt bother...its weird.

Do you literally feel the problem with your eyes 5 minutes after taking the pill, what other things are you doing during that routine?

What time are you taking them? I used to get really sick after taking them and my ob told me to take them b/f bed. I was fine when I woke up in the morning.

I take the pill at 9pm after eating something..

Great, now my eyes are gonna start to hurt

I would def. call ob/gyn and ask her about it.

Yea..Ill call her up. I mean, its not a horrible pain..and it does eventually go away...but still..

I will ask my sister because she just started the pill too. She also wears contacts, so she may have the same side effects as you

Thats interesting. Id mention it to the doc just out of curiosity. the only thing I can think of is what you already mentioned, that they can cause problems with lens use, but Im not sure what else it can affect in regards to your eyes. See if you can find anything online about it.
