Is it just me, or does this sound insane? As good as that idea sounds (not having to worry about PMS), isn't it kind of scary....what do you girls think?

Scares me, don't know if I trust it, they were talkin on news today that it causes alot of gals to have breakthru bleeding.... I have such probs with BC that I know I'd be one of those girls... I'll stick to the ol dipraghm and 'pull-out' method, has worked for almost 3 years....

I would never do that, that is really dangerous, and not good for your body at all, that prob has so many side effects. I'll stick to the way my body is used to, not having your period for months sounds really bad

although i know that is sounds scary - stopping your period really is not unhealthy. being on constant BC stops your uterus from forming a 'lining' therefore there is nothing to shed and no period!
many bc methods stop your period such as depo provera ( which unfortunately has OTHER side effects for some people)
actually - stopping your period or only getting it a few times a year is something that was started by many female gynecologists, they have been doing this for ages!
ETA: this type of BC has the same possible side effects as any type - blood clots etc.

I tried Seaonale when it first came out because you only get your period every 3 months. For the first 3 months it was awesome, but when I did get my period, it lasted for a little ever 3 weeks!!!!!!!! Needless to say, I'm back on the normal BCP and get it every single month... ugh.

This is scary to me.
A friend of mine was on Seasonale and since she was only getting her period every three to four months she did find out that she was PREGNANT until she was six months along.
I like that monthy reminder that I'm not with child.

also, although i dont like the idea either
it has been proven by studies conducted that the less you ovulate - the less your risks of ovarian cancer
sooo in theory ... the more times you are pregnant - your odds decrease so it might work the same for this pill? no period = no ovulation = decreased risk of ovarian cancer?

Hmmm, and then I get confused because I think, god created people, giving people brains and knowledge to discover and make medicines, birth control, etc.... so then I'm thinking maybe he DOES want people to try stuff... LOL

ps - i am not going on this pill or anything like that nor did i try seasonale. . . i just dont want to scare people off who want to try this kind of pill bc i DO think it can be beneficial to some people! i do LOTS of research on everything in the world that interests me and i know a lot of people dont do that - they may just see our opinions on here and let make a decision for them - that is why i posted my opinion!

I dont think I would go on seasonal. but I think it is okay to skip your period once in awhile by skipping the blank pills. But I wouldnt do that every month. But i did read once that it isn't necessary for you to have your period every month. Mostly cus woman are having children later now than they did in the old days or something like that. Who knows!
