Be honest-Make up trials?

Did you ladies show a picture in a magazine of what you wanted your make up to look like on the big day.

OR

Did the make up artist, Do it beautifully perfect the first time.?

I had two trials - two different artists. I brought magazine clippings of the look I wanted - pictures of everything from my dress to the BM dresses to how I wanted my hair, etc.

The first trial was awful - she just did my makeup how she always seems to do everyone else's makeup (based on trial pics from here).

The second trial was perfect - I booked her on the spot.

Sounds like this may be my scenario.....

I had one trial and I didn't like it. I am having a second trial next week. Then I will compare. I think I learned a lot from my first trial. I learned what to ask for and to speak up when i don't like it!

Yea...I think, she felt that I did not like it, but wearing the whole make up all day helped out with my decision.

I had one trial & it was perfect! I let JN do her thing & it was amazing!

That is great.

I had my trial with Oksana. We made a few adjustments until I was happy. Next time I want to use a few of my own products though. All in all I was very happy with my trial.

ETA: I did tell her what I liked though-Pink glossy lips and faux eyelashes.

My FIRST makeup trial was HORRIBLE! I teared up like crazy because they put SO much makeup on my eyes. I went in and told them 'I want to look natural' they didn't listen. Then my second trial was WONDERFUL! They listened to me and didn't make me tear! To answer your original question, I didn't bring pictures but they got the idea...FINALLY!

I found it hard to show a picture b/c different people's faces look different with different makeup...I told her what I wanted - neutral colors and not clown makeup and what to emphasize (and not) - and let her do her thing

I liked the way I looked, all I changed was the lipstick color a few times

I went to the MAC site printed some looks & cutting out magazine pics as to how i want to look. My trial is in Aug

I didn't show her pictures. We talked about the look I wanted and she did the trial based on that and I loved the way it came out.

We didn't make any changes on the wedding day and I loved it then too.
