beach themed wedding

I really would love to have my wedding late summer 09 somewhere that is near the water. I think the fire island thing is not going to work out(last post). any ideas? thanks

How about the Crescent Beach Club? I went to a summer wedding there and it was amazing! They had a steel drum band at cocktail hour outside, right on the beach. It was awesome. If you're going more for water than for beach and sand, the Riviera in Massapequa is really great and so is Chataeu La Mer in Lindenhurst (I think that's the town). Is Montauk or the Hamptons too far? There are some incredible places there as well.

i was going to say try the crecent beach club too... if it's nice out.. you have a section of the beach all to your self...

I'm in the same boat at you..so far these are the places I've gone to see that are by the water

Chataeu La Mer
Venetian Yatch Club
Giorgios
Louis XVI

These are on the list of places I still want to go see:
The Surf Club
Glen Island Harbour Club
VIP Country Club
Lombardis On The Sound

There's more I'll post again if I can think of them..I don't have my list with me...

fyi ...giorgios is BEAUTIFUL but its NOT directly on the water, is is like 2oo feet away from it, and u can't see it from the hall (there are some apartments or condos blocking it)

I was going to suggest this...this place is the epitome of BEACHY! I think it is pricey, but its gorgeous...also Crescent Beach is definitely nice as well...Im getting married at CLM but i dont see it as beachy, yes it has water, but the others mentioned are def more beachy in my mind! GOod luck!

Good point!! I should have said that earlier! The place is absolutely gorgeous, I heard great things about their food and they were incredibly sweet when I went there..if you could actually see the water from their room I would have booked there!
