You all look so beautiful and it really is helping me feel better about going for my dress. Would it be possible for those that post pics if you post where you went to get your dress and your experience? I want to go someplace where I know I will get good service and a kind heart.

I mentioned this to dmc, but I went to Lynbrook Bridal. They have a large selection of plus styles to try on. The women there were wonderful too.

thanks so much!!! it's maggie's 'eleganza'. i found it at lillette's in baldwin. it's hard to see in these pics but the back was honestly the best part of the dress because the lace was so beautiful. here is a better pic:

Wow, that's absolutely gorgeous. Besides sleeves, a back is mandatory when looking for my dress....either a back or jacket. I have a large tattoo I need to cover. Thanks for the info!

how difficult was it to find a dress that wasn't strapless? i really don't like the way strapless gowns look on me.

this is my problem too. feel like all the criteria i have just doesn't exist in the wedding world. it's aggravating.

It wasn't hard at all. I don't like how strapless gowns look on me either. I went to Village Bridal and Boutique in Babylon Village and let me tell you the selection was HUGE. They do have a lot of gowns that aren't strapless. I am so happy for that.

So when i got engaged I wanted a dress with sleeves because I felt like 'I'm big with linebacker arms' Well I went out trying dresses and every and any dress with arms and they all looked HORRIBLE on me!!! If anything they accentuated the part that I wanted to hide the most. I tried on some strapless dresses and while I was self-concious about my arms and back I looked sooo much better in them. I finally found a solution which was a shrug. So I'm wearing a strapless dress with a shrug to camoflouge my hefty arms. It looks perfect together.

Def. keep an open mind when going out to look for dresses, once I opened up and tried on something that I didn't think would look good on me...i was surprised.
