Because Marymoon said so....

I am joining the 06 board! I'm Nic, getting married Feb 07 (or sooner, if I grow a $$$ tree, or if someone is willing to give me one.) We're paying by ourselves!

I'll be 22 on Feb 12th, and I'm a student, hoping to be a high school english teacher eventually. Work p/t in a medical office. If I'm not at school, i'm at work! Thats my life...FH is Rich - he's a teacher, currently teaching and working towards his masters.

As some of you already know (from BHB or NWR), I don't have a 'real' e-ring yet. FH wanted to get some things together first, and he understood that it wasn't the ring I was after, so he gave me a small, but beautiful 3 stone ring on Thanksgiving. However, now that there's a JOB, there's a ring coming! I'm having a ball researching online, we'll get to the city in Feb. to look. I have a feeling it'll be mine in May, for our 5 yr anniversary.

Perfect strangers feel the need to tell us we're too young to be getting married, some nerve! We've been together since high school, almost 5 yrs now, and I've known since the beginning. When you know, you just KNOW, right?! I'll be at least 24 when we're married, and IMO thats not bad. We were never the kind of kids that go out partying and forget how we got home - we're 22 going on 40!

I'm on here a lot, but usually on the NWR boards. It's just too early for me to be planning! Our goal is to book a hall by the summer, and we'll be looking in Feb so we can get an idea what the places look like at the time of year we'll be married.

Excited to meet you ladies! I've met sooo many nice people on NWR...

Hey shorty, you are more than welcome in the 06 board. I know what you mean about being 22. I'm 23 now and me and FH have been together for 6 years. Yes, when you know...you know! Happy Planning.

you are more then welcome to join us shorty! Don't worry what people say...Everyone has an opinion & the perfect age to get married! No one understands it is just about love no matter the age!

Congrats and don't worry about age. The FH and I are only 23 and we'll be 25 when we get married. Our 5 yr. anniversary is this Feb. Only you know what feels right for the two of you!

Congrats!!! and done feel bad, I'm 22 and i have heard that froma few people as well. Its hard b/c FH is 28 and all his friends are married, while Im the first one of my friends to even be mentioning marriage so thay are all freaking out a bit. I feel like none of them understand what goes into planning a wedding yet (I know i didnt till I started planning) so nothing I am doing is exactly right for them. THey all want us to stay in out single girls from college lifestyle...and Im deffinately past that. It doesnt help that FH and I have not been together very long (but we met and there was no questioning out future together from there!) My 3 best friends from college have all been with their bfs from 3-4+ years....so they think I am crazy and I also think theres a bit of annoyance that they have put all this time in and im the one getting married first (and way before them...) kinda takes the fun out of the wedding sometimes....but i know in the long run they will be happy for me....I HOPE!

It;s nice to finally have proof that there ARE girls like me in existence! All of my friends, FH's friends act like they're 18 - out til 4am on a Thursday, leaving drunken messages on my voicemail to 'come out and play' -- ah HEM, excuse me! I have to be up for work at 7!

It's funny, my parents were the same way. Met when they were 12, married at 21, kids at 23. I love having young parents!

Awww, your parent's story is so great! yeah I really lost tocuh with a lot of my HS frineds and didn't make such great frineds in college because I always had to have a job and be responsible so not only couldn't I party and be irresponsible, it just never appealed to me

So now I know FH and I are going to do some extensive ring shopping, I've been searching on here for some old e-ring posts. I loooove the Tacori look, but not sure how it would work with the diamond type I've chosen/can afford. I'm looking towards a princess cut, but quality is most important to me. E color, VS1 or higher ... even if I have to go with a half ct, I know it'll be a perfect diamond for me. Some ladies on here recommended PriceScope.com a while ago (2003 posts), and I was curious to know if it helped anyone before I waste time putzing around on there. I'd much rather putz around on here!

I don't know, but I liked bluenile.com when i was looking, it gva e agood idea of rice ranges, etc. I can get the info from FH of the jeweler he used. He was really great and patient and the ring appraised for tseveral thousand more than he paid, and I wa slike you with quality. I needed E quality and VVS1 or better, and I got it in a great size and cut for what FH felt was a very reasonable price!
