Go on Route 110 which is Farmingdale and right by Estelle's there are a ton of furniture stores - Levitz, Seamans, Sigerman's, Huffman Koos......and a ton more!
We're not moving into the house until October so we have some time to find a set we like but we should start soon b/c our taste is sooooooo different. This is going to be a riot.

Re: bedroom sets?
We found furniture in a store on Rt. 110, but actually ordered it from North Carolina, and even with shipping, it is still MUCH less than ordering from a local place.

Re: bedroom sets?
Thanks - I found out the manufacturer and the name of the set that we had decided on, and searched on the internet (actually used yahoo search) and typed in the manufacturer name in quotes + North Carolina. Wound up with Furniture USA from North Carolina Ordered it almost 4 weeks ago - they said it should take 8 - 12 weeks, but more likely closer to 8 than 12. The price, even with shipping was like $1,700 less for all the pieces than if I ordered it from the store on LI. I'm sure that the store isn't happy about it, but I am, b/c otherwise I wouldn't have ordered ALL of the pieces. We're getting a queen size bed, (headboard and footboard), 2 night stands, dresser, mirror, chest and armoire for about $3,200 including almost $600 in shipping charges. Would have cost about $5K on LI.

Re: bedroom sets?
Thanks!!!
Domain use to be in Roosevelt Field mall - now they moved onto the corner of Old Country Road and Carle Place (across from the diner and in the strip of stores where Tower Records is).
There are a handful of girls that have also ordered from High Point Furnitiure Sales because they carry a lot of good brands for less than they sell in New York

Re: bedroom sets?
This is what we're putting in our room:
We're trying to justufy the cost by convincing ourselves that it'll be around for at least 6 years and hopefully the style is traditional enough to last.

Re: bedroom sets?
The bed I just posted inspired me to check out the bed I'm in love with from 'Needless Markup' aka Nieman Marcus aka Horchow: It's on sale!!!! And it doesn't have a footboard! I wonder if my FH will go for it!?!

Re: bedroom sets?
We just picked this out this past weekend at Bo on Glen Cove Road. It's very simple and kinda zen like.
