I am showing my before picture of our livingroom - When we bought the house every room was painted white - Some of the rooms were worse than others - the livingroom was one that I could live with the way it was. You know how hard it is moving in and trying to get the whole house painted - so we've been trying to do one room at a time. We are going to try the Venetian plaster tomorrow - so I will post again my after picture.
My diningroom is green - do you think I should do a different shade of green or a what about a yellow? I have yellow, sage, and reds in the room. I don't want to do red b/c the room off of the livingroom is red - I have very dark colors and furniture in the room and as you can see a lot of dard wood work - should I go with a bold color or do something light to try and brighten up the room? Thanks for any helpful insight.
Since you have a lot of the dark shades, I would do something neutral using the shades you already have in the room. Like a beige with a brown base. If you are doing the venetian plaster, you can use several different shades of the color to hightlight the texture.
I think adding another color is going make the room seem cluttered..and also distract from the woodwork.
