You should send them out a year in advance...

Since my wedding is on a holiday weekend, I'm sending them out 1 year and about 2 months before the wedding!

Mine is a holiday weekend also, and I will be doing my save the dates, one year in advance...normally it's 10-12 months and it since it's a holiday i'm going with 12 months.
