Fh and I looked over our budget. We still havent purchased wedding bands and it appears we cant get the ones we wanted. We have enough money to pay for everything but would be using up 'wedding gift' his parents gave us if we bought the rings So I cant really seem myself spending that much money on rings now. But I also cant imagine spending a ton on a ring I really dont want either.

I don't know what kind of rings you were looking for, but I know my FH didn't want anything crazy so he was totally fine just getting his ring off of Overstock.com. I got mine ring from Attias Flea Market. We paid under $1000 together for both our rings. I totally understand how you feel. I think we have to dip into the 'parents gift' fund. I'm just thankful we have it.

why don't use just buy plain bands right now?
i dont know what is 'cheap' to you... our white gold bands were $400 (for both of them) at a vendor at tricounty but you could definitely get a thinner band for less.
then, you could always trade those in later for the ones you really wanted (or save them for sentimental value and just buy other ones in a year or so)
