Being from NY- if you were on the Apprentice do you think you would have an edge?

I mentioned this in one of my posts.

Each week on this show, they are required to show some negotiating and bargaining skills and just basic common sense (IN NY)

Kwame who is from NY- has totally disappointed me in this aspect. (except the first show where he negotiated free stuff)

If you were on this show as a Native New yorker, do you think you could have done better?

I dont know if I could have done better than some of the women b/c frankly I think they have done a pretty amazing job. Like the ad campaign and the tshirts with the ribbon and the getting the best deals.

The men have done an aweful job but I doubt that is a NY thing. Its just they dont have the creativity the women have. The only people I would want on my team from the men is Bill.

Stef, I see your point, but just picking apart certain episodes, like the first one, would you have not been able to pick a better location for the lemonade stand? Would you have not been able to haggle better in China Town?

The girls picked a good spot for the lemonade.

The men are just not that sharp IMO. Also remember when someone says they are 'from NY' that doesnt necessarily mean they know Manhattan well. The guy could live in Commack and just work on Wall Street and never go anywhere else, you know? There are plenty of people who work in NYC who dont know the city at all.

But I dont think you need to be from NY to know that you cant sell lemonade next to the fish market!!

I was thinking about this last night. When the girls walked into the ribbon store I said to DH I know exactly where that store is. I would have gone right to that area for supplies. DH said I would have looked up fabric in the phone book.

So to answer your question the only edge I think you have is maybe knowledge of the transportation systems available.
