I used to LOVE holidays. I lived for Christmas. I loved Thanksgiving. I couldn't wait for my birthday. Now I DREAD holidays. I hate them. I dread seeing certain family members. DH and I always get in a fight about said family members.
I am kind of sad over it. Like mourning the memory of happy holidays.

that is why I make dinner for US on the holidays. we visit everyone during the day...stay for a spot of tea perhaps, but when we sit down to eat, it's at home.
this way, we don't have to deal with who's going where..who invited us where...none of that.

yuck - this is why i am being a brat this year. All of my final holidays as a single gal will be spent with my family - FH is welcome but he can stay with his fam if he would like.
And i mean the ENTIRE day will be with my parents. No splitting holidays (for this year only)
Next year is going to stink.

See, we don't have this problem. Kevin doesn't really have much family left so we spend pretty much every holiday with my family. The only question is whether or not we'll have his daughter with us.

I dread just being around so many people. I don't know why - I just get all anxious and weird. Then I start cleaning!! I have actually started cleaning other peoples homes! WHAT?!?!?! I'm such a freak!
So holidays are always an anxious time for me. No easter for my family this year so that makes it easier - only one day of eating too much and talking to people I don't like so much...
I'm so sorry that so many of you have such horrible holidays. Makes me want to open my home to all of you and say just come up here - we can drink and laugh and eat and just have a good time being ourselves... no one here to impress.... someday...

I might be willing to trade eating twinkies, cheese puffs and chocolate for avoiding holidays. Except 4th of July cause I am drunk, so painful interactions with meanies aren't remembered the following day
