Being mean and not getting caught? Suggestions Please

Original post by alina

A coworker of mine and I mutually dislike (or hate) each other. Luckily she is leaving the company as of July!!!

She maintains sort of a diary website, which I found via 'google' and her name, and there she has on few occasions talked trash about me... In the most discusting and unfair way!!! And the website allows guestbook style entries for each message!!!

I was thinking of possibly posting a reply to one of her 'mean' diary entries and possibly humiliating her in front of any of her friends that would be reading the little guestbook tab...

What do you think? Too childish or go for it?

Edited to add that I would only do so after she has quit (i.e. left the company) and only from a public computer...

Alternatively, I could do what Lenny suggests.

Take a pair of her shoes (from under desk), break off a heel on one of them, and then crazy glue it back. The heel will come off with pressure and she is likely to twist her ankle (but I may be too chicken for this)

I would be the bigger person and let it go. You stoop to her level if you write anything at all and then you are no better than she is. Better to let it go and move on.

You are giving this woman way too much thought, she is insignificant as far as I am concerned. I have never been in an argument and I doubt it as this age if I will, some people need to be put out to pasture and she is one of them. Don't let her bring you down. You are using too much negative energy and all that does is breath more negative energy. Let it go and move on.

Alina... if someone came to this thread and posted nasty things about you... you would assume that it was her or one of her dumb friends, right? If you post on her diary, she will probably figure it out. Probably not worth it.

I dont blame you if you do though, especially if she used your real name in her post.

Honestly, I don't even need to read what this woman wrote about you, nor would I need to in order to know that she is obviously immature, unprofessional and barren of any kind of social life. It seems as though just BEING her is bad enough. Leave it at that. Pity is sometimes the best form of revenge.

If you really really find yourself having an urge to do something, I would just pass a comment, 'Oh yeah, (insert name), I was online the other day and saw your interactive diary, very cute idea, thinking of starting one myself...' I think that the fact that she knew you read it would be enough to bother her.

I agree with PRINCESSRACHEL, what she did is very immature, but everyone vents on their one way. She decided to make a diary, you have US!!!!!

I agree that its her journal...and to leave it be...she is venting (for whatever reason)

we all like to have a place to vent...and she knows that you don't like her and I'm sure it affects her in some way...

I had a journal on another site and happened to write about the girl that asked DH to break up with me to go out with her...I have nothing nice to say about this girl...and she happened upon it...but it was my way of letting steam out...

I would let it go
