I personally never heard of them, however DO NOT be a softy when it comes to putting your foot down.If there issomething you are not happy with speak up or you will be disappointed in the long run. This is Your BIG day and the only one you get. Tell her that you do not want to speak to him over the phone. What you want should be what You get or Iwould go somewhere else.Good Luck!

I have never heard of them either, but I am almost positive that if they are a vendor on the knot, then they are definitely a true vendor and not a . However you are paying for their services so if I were you I would demand that you meet with them before hand if that is what you want!

Re: bella pictures
keep in mind that there are hundreds of vendors out there and only a small handful are talked about on LIW. and just because they're popular on LIW doesn't mean they're popular in the 'real world'
why would you think they're not legit? didn't you go to their store/location and see their work? if you didn't, you need to. you shouldn't book a vendor just on strangers' reviews---there are a ton of vendors that are popular on LIW that i would never book because of may reasons but other brides love them.

Re: bella pictures
we had a meeting with a salesperson who met us at a starbucks,,,, i guess because it is a company that has many photographers throughout the u.s. and they work mostly with professional digital photography, they dont have like a main office building that we go to... i guess im just nervous because i rushed into every decision , we booked the wedding with only 7 months to plan it and didnt really start till after the holidays. i am going to try to meet with him because i would like him to know what i want pictures of.

Hey .. don't worry.. If I were you I would want to meet that photographer and see his style of photography. You should get a list of all the shots you want.. and also tell him how you want the wedding to be shot. And to be honest with you.. some of the photographers on LIWeddings are not the greatest, some of them are extremely overpriced and some are very good. (if you can afford them)
I went with two freelance photographers who started their wedding photography business last year, called their references, everything a ok.. I found them on craigslist, got a great deal.. I couldn't find reviews on them, I just called 4 references and met with them.. I love their style..and met with them at starbucks also ...

Re: bella pictures
I would do a research on them. Better Business Bureau, etc...
I met a photographer once also at a Starbuck's. He claimed he was in my area and it would be easier than having us drive to his studio.
He was the first person I checked for photography. I was not impressed at all by his portfolio. It was put together in a regular wedding album with 'sleeves'. I had the impression he had just taken photos at his friend's wedding. I did not have a good feeling after we met him.
Needless to say, I had my reserves. Then I met with 2 other studios here on LIW and could see a major difference in professional portfolio, quality, etc.
I would look around. Unless they work in the City and are well known freelancers, I would not take the chance.

I never heard of them either and I've been looking. Do they have a website? Have you seen samples that the actually photographer who's shooting your wedding has taken? How did you hear about them?
If they are giving you an amazing deal on the price then you probably have to settle for some compromise. Have you given a deposit yet? It's not too late to look around.

Sorry to add that I have not heard of them either. The fact that you had your meeting at Starbucks doesn't bother me, the fact that they send your photographer will just call you does. You should definitely be able to view the work of the photographer that will be taking your pics and meet with him/her in person to talk about style of pictures and your must take list. My photograpger is a freelancer that works for the knot. I would check her out if you are having second thoughts about your photographer. www.jenniferdavisphotography.com.

Re: bella pictures
well unfortunatly i did already pay for it,,, but that was when i thought everything would be fine and we would meet him. (cuz thats what i was told) she did send me a link to view his work and it seemed nice but not completely our style but whos to say if he knew what we wanted he could or could not do it. she also said if i did not like his work i can ask to switch to someone new, this is their website www.bellapictures.com she did have some beautiful albums to show me, but they were from random photographers that worked for the company. so how do i know if mine are going to be like the ones i fell in love with

Re: bella pictures
No one has really heard of my photographer (Moments by Tessie and Sandi) and I checked with the Better Business Bureau and the department of Consumer Affairs to see if there are any complaints lodged against them.
My friend also suggested that I ask them for three (in your case local) references to contact.
